I joined BCVI as a DR screener unsure of my path, but knowing I wanted to help in healthcare. One day, I screened a young diabetic woman blind in one eye, barely seeing in the other and helped diagnose her glaucoma. Her gratitude moved me deeply; what felt like a routine task to me meant the world to her. That moment sparked my passion to grow in this field and give back to my community thanks to Dr. Singal support.
